Why is it that another 15 minutes at work is easy to come by? How is it that we can always find time to accept that last minute meeting invite? In all of my seeming flexibility, why is it that it seems so hard to make time for my family?
In a time when our society and country as a whole is paying for its economic sins, the average American worker is being subtly (or not so subtly) asked to chip in a little extra. In these trying times, don't forget why it is that we show up at work everyday; our family.
Do the ones you love a little favor and live your life in reverse when you can. Start thinking of your time at home like your job: don't show up late, give it all you've got, try to be noticed for your accomplishments, and every once in a while... take that extra appointment and stay a few minutes late.
All the best,
Tanner
